Paradise Tanager

This tour specializes in rare, elusive species, perfect for passionate, skilled, and agile photographers.

The tour begins from: Pitalito or Puerto Asis.

Location: Colombian massif (Huila, Cauca And Putumayo).

Colombia’s Andes offer an unparalleled experience for bird photography, with a variety of ecosystems that create ideal conditions for capturing rare and colorful species in stunning natural settings.

Huila welcomes visitors with its fertile valleys, famed for coffee production but equally abundant in birdlife. Beyond the plantations, rolling hills frame vibrant species like the Turquoise Tanager and Paradise Tanager, their bright plumage contrasting beautifully against the lush greenery. These scenic backdrops enhance every shot, turning each capture into a visual masterpiece.

Cauca unveils breathtaking mountain landscapes where cloud forests and rich valleys host an extraordinary array of birds. The Golden-eared Tanager and the elusive Andean Cock-of-the-Rock thrive here, offering unique photographic moments. Early mornings and late afternoons provide the perfect lighting, elevating each composition with dramatic natural tones.

Further south, Putumayo transitions into dense jungles and winding rivers, a sanctuary teeming with life. Parrots, hummingbirds, and countless other species create an ever-changing display of movement and color. The region’s indigenous communities share deep-rooted traditions, enriching the experience with cultural insights that blend seamlessly with the natural environment.

Bird photography in Colombia is an immersive journey that requires patience, observation, and respect for wildlife. With the right approach, every image captured tells a story of beauty, biodiversity, and conservation.
